A mixed marital arts bout is expected to draw first blood at the Crystal Centre this winter. Before any events are inked on the calendar, however, the newly-minted Combative Sports Commission must have its application package for licensing of promoters and events signed, sealed and delivered.

The Grande Prairie Service Plus Inns & Suites Reds are provincial champs and they did it in style. The Reds ran the table at the Baseball Alberta Bantam Competitive Tier II Provincial Championships in Taber over the weekend, winning all four games played.
